O projeto Um teto todo seu nasce do desejo de um encontro, da busca por um espaço de respiro, de intimidade e de criação para as mulheres.
Artistas que exploram linguagens diversas – como interferência urbana, performance, xilogravura, fotografia, vídeo, instalação, dança e poesia – se reunirão em um período de residência no espaço Enquanto, que resultará em uma mostra de arte.

The project Um teto todo seu (A room of one’s own) emerges from the desire of an encounter, of the search for a breathing space, of creation and intimacy for women.
Artists that explore different languages – such as urban interference, performance, woodcut, photography, video, installation, dance and poetry – will meet in a period of residence in the space Enquanto, that will result in an art show.

O projeto Um teto todo seu surge do e-grupo Encontro Feminino, criado em 2009 por Mariana Cavalcante como um terreno fértil de diálogo. Com o desenvolvimento do grupo foi aberto o espaço para a iniciativa de se fazer um projeto e, conforme a estória caminhou, surgiu o desejo – sempre orientado por um critério de afinidade – de que outras artistas fizessem parte.
É marcante nesta trajetória a disposição para a construção conjunta do processo, em que se somam às ideias iniciais as contribuições das novas integrantes. O projeto se pretende como uma oportunidade de respiro, de intimidade e de criação para as mulheres, onde a cada reunião presencial e cada comunicação virtual são criados acordos claros e as próprias condições para a experiência.
Já nas primeiras reuniões, ficou claro que Um teto todo seu não é um projeto sobremulheres, mas um projeto de mulheres. Muitas delas se conhecem há mais de dez anos e fazem parte de coletivos artísticos ao mesmo tempo que desenvolvem trabalhos individuais. Este projeto é também um encontro de linguagens artísticas diversas: interferência urbana, performance, xilogravura, fotografia, vídeo, instalação, dança, poesia entre outros.
Entretanto, o foco de Um teto todo seu é menos a exposição de obras finais e mais o processo de convivência e troca entre as artistas, que poderão compartilhar suas práticas, as inquietações que envolvem a criação e outras experiências que surgirão do encontro, durante um período de residência em um espaço comum.

The project Um teto todo seu (A room of one’s own) emerges from the e-groupEncontro Feminino (Female Encounter), created in 2009 by Mariana Cavalcante as a fertile ground of dialogue. With the development of the group was opened space for the iniciative to do a project and, as the story walked, came the desire – always guided by a criterion of affinity – that other artists were part.
It’s outstanding in this trajectory the disposition of building together the project in a process, by adding to the first ideas the contributions of the new members. For the women it’s an opportunity of breathing, intimacy and creation, where we create, in each presencial meeting and virtual communication, clear agreements whose the purpose is to create conditions for this experience.
In the very first meetings, it was clear that Um teto todo seu is not a project aboutwomen, but a project of women. Many of them know each other for more than 10 years and do part of artistic collectives at the same time they develop individual works. This project is also an encounter of many artistic languages: urban interference, performance, woodcut, photography, video, installation, dance, poetry among others.
Though, the focus of Um teto todo seu is less the final works’ exhibition and more the intimacy process and the exchange between the artists, who will may share their practices, the questions that involves the creation and other experiences that will emerge from the encounter, during a residency period in a common space.
